Into the Modern Age.... And Summer in Golden....

Well, in addition to a blog, the Dove Inn B&B now has a Facebook page (search for Dove Inn) and is on Twitter (doveinn), in addition to a Facebook page for yours truly, the innkeeper (search for Annette Lyttle), and a personal account on Twitter (ablyttle). Massive leap into the Modern Age! :-)

I'm still trying to figure out how all this stuff works, and it's been kinda fun (if occasionally frustrating) to play around with it.

Meanwhile -- there are Signs of Summer in Golden!

The weather's been beautiful -- after our exceptionally rainy Memorial Day weekend -- and there are lots of folks in town.
This coming Friday (June 5) is Golden's First Friday, when the shops stay open till 8 p.m., and there are sales, free horse-and-carriage rides, entertainment, and events. Saturday (June 6), the Farmers Market opens. It's held every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the end of October.
Meghan the Official Inn Dog is settling in nicely, now that we've had her for two months. She loves meeting guests after breakfast. We're doing a clicker training class, and she's loving it, since it's all about positive reinforcement.
Thanks for reading my Innkeeper's Blog -- and check us out on Facebook and Twitter.

Update on Nina Storey Performances

Singer Nina Storey will perform at Vintner's Cellar of Golden (http://www.vcgoldenwinery.com/) on July 3rd and 4th. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door for two sets with Nina on either evening. VIP tickets ($50 single, $80 couple) are also available and include wine, cheese, and chocolate, and early admission. See Vintner's website for details.

On Friday, July 3, Nina will perform from 8:15 to 9 p.m., then Josh McWilliams will perform during her break from 9 to 9:45 p.m. Nina will be back from 9:45 to 10:30 p.m.

On Saturday, July 4th Nina will perform at the same times. During her break from 9 p.m. to 9:45, you can enjoy Golden's spectacular fireworks display, or just kick back and relax at the winery.

And why drive home after the concert? Treat yourself to a stay at the Dove Inn Bed & Breakfast. Check our website, http://www.doveinn.com/, for availability, then book online or call us at 303-278-2209. You can come to Golden, check in at the inn, and walk to the concert.

Make it a real getaway for the holiday by adding a massage (single or couples) at Urban Escape Day Spa, http://www.urbanescapespa.com/, on Friday or Sunday.

Friday, July 3, is Golden's First Friday and our annual Downtown Block Party, so there will be lots of activities to keep you busy while you're waiting for the concert to begin. Golden's Farmers Market is Saturday morning, July 4. And, of course, you can visit all our interesting shops, take the Coors tour, check out our museums, hike or bike, or just sit by Clear Creek and take in the beauty of the area.

Thanks for reading my Innkeeper's blog!
